Anglesey man jailed for domestic abuse and coercive control
14 October 2025 – Caernarfon
An Anglesey man has been jailed for more than two years after subjecting his partner to a prolonged campaign of abuse and controlling behaviour.
Arron Jones was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court on 9 October 2025 after pleading guilty to controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship, assault by beating, and intentional strangulation.
The court heard that Jones subjected his victim to a year and a half of intimidation and violence while she was pregnant with his child. He repeatedly assaulted and strangled her, leaving her with lasting emotional and psychological trauma.
Jones also removed furniture from her apartment — including her bed — forcing her to sleep in her car while heavily pregnant. He was found to have breached bail conditions on two separate occasions.
The judge imposed a two-year and three-month prison sentence and granted a 17-year restraining order, preventing Jones from any future contact with the victim.
The court was told that Jones had a history of drug and alcohol misuse and was described as posing an ongoing danger to women.
