Brave mum, 24, raped in car park by ex-youth footballer reveals ‘years of hell’
A courageous 24-year-old woman has spoken out after being raped by former West Bromwich Albion youth player Akil Grier in Worcester. The survivor, who met Grier through Tinder, shared how what started as a first date turned into a terrifying and violent assault in a secluded car park after she refused to go to a hotel with him.
The attack took place in Grier’s car, parked outside Henwick Vets. The woman managed to escape and immediately reported the incident to the police. Grier was arrested the next morning and later convicted.
The victim described the ongoing trauma, flashbacks, and emotional scars left by the assault. She warned other women about the dangers of meeting strangers through dating apps and urged them to meet only in public places.
