❌ADEN ELLIS – CORNWALL❌
He Dragged Me With His Car — And That Wasn’t Even the Worst Thing He Did”: Survivor Speaks Out Against Convicted Abuser Aden Ellis
A brave survivor is speaking out for the first time about the years of domestic abuse she endured at the hands of Aden Ellis — the man convicted in June 2024 for dragging her with a car while their children were in the backseat, in an incident that left witnesses horrified and made headlines across Cornwall.
As reported by Cornwall Live, Ellis was sentenced at Truro Crown Court after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and assault by beating, and was issued a five-year restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
But now, the woman at the centre of the case says that horrifying night was just the tip of the iceberg — and she wants people to know the full truth of who he is and what he’s done.
“He raped me. He beat me while I was pregnant. He strangled me. He headbutted me so hard he shattered my nose. I lived in fear every single day. I used to cry silently in the shower, hoping someone would save me.”
She says Ellis exerted total control over her life — isolating her from friends, monitoring her movements and messages, and using psychological abuse to break down her sense of reality.
“He told me I was crazy, said I imagined things, told me no one would believe me. And I believed him. I was trapped.”

A Violent, Public Attack
The violent event that finally led to Ellis’s conviction happened after she attempted to end the relationship.
While driving with their children, Ellis became violent behind the wheel, and when she tried to stop him entering her home, he made a chilling threat:
“He said, ‘You’re not going home either’ — and he put his foot down.”
In a desperate attempt to protect her children, she pulled the handbrake. When the car stopped, she jumped out and tried to get them out — but Ellis drove off with her hanging from the door, dragging her down the street.
“He slammed the brakes to throw me off. I ended up rolling down the road in front of my children.”
Neighbours ran to help, and her 10-year-old son leapt over the front seat to unlock the doors and get his siblings out.
As she tried to flee to safety, Ellis circled the block, drove the car at her and her children, and narrowly missed them.

A Light Sentence for a Lifetime of Harm
Ellis was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder, but prosecutors later accepted a plea to lesser charges:
• Dangerous driving
• Assault by beating
He served just five months in prison, and was released under conditions. He later breached his restraining order, was remanded again, and served a further short sentence.
“He keeps getting let off easy. I’ve served a life sentence of trauma — he did a few months.”

“This Isn’t My Shame — It’s His”
Since his release, she says Ellis has entered a new relationship — and she’s already received calls from women describing the same abuse she once lived through.
“He’s on Clare’s Law — but women don’t always know to check. He’s charming. He hides it well. But he’s dangerous.”
Today, she is no longer silent — and no longer afraid.
“I left for my children. So they don’t grow up thinking violence is love. I’m not ashamed anymore. He should be.”
