❌AARON BUTLER – ROCHDALE❌
Rochdale man charged after years of domestic abuse
A 28-year-old man from Rochdale with a long history of domestic violence is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting a woman.
Aaron Butler has been charged with assault by beating, adding to a record of abusive behaviour that stretches back four years. Police confirmed that Butler has been involved in multiple incidents of domestic abuse over that period, including repeated assaults and controlling behaviour towards partners.
Due to the seriousness of his history, Butler is now subject to disclosure under Clare’s Law, which allows police to share information about an individual’s violent past with potential partners in order to protect them from harm.
The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, more commonly known as Clare’s Law, was introduced to give people the right to ask police if their partner has a record of abusive offences. In cases where there is a clear risk, officers can disclose that history directly.
Domestic abuse campaigners say cases like Butler’s underline the importance of the scheme in preventing future harm and ensuring that victims have access to vital information that could help safeguard their lives.
