❌FRANKIE HODGSON – CARLISLE❌
Carlisle Man Pleads Guilty After Single Punch Incident
A Carlisle man has pleaded guilty to wounding after delivering a single punch to a woman, a court heard.
Frankie Hodgson, 38, of Peel Street, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where he entered a plea to the lesser offence of wounding in relation to an incident that took place on August 16.
Hodgson had originally been charged with the more serious offence of intentionally wounding the same victim, but he denied that charge. During the hearing, prosecutor and defence counsel agreed that the lesser offence was appropriate, and the Crown accepted Hodgson’s plea.
As proceedings began, Judge Nicholas Barker questioned why the more serious charge had been brought, noting that only a single blow had been delivered during the incident, and that this appeared to have occurred after Hodgson himself had been struck.
Hodgson’s guilty plea to wounding means the case will proceed to sentencing, where the judge will determine the appropriate penalty based on the circumstances of the attack and Hodgson’s record.
