Corey Davies, also known on social media as Corey Lawerance, was convicted of assault by beating following a sentencing hearing at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on 21 September 2020.

The offence occurred on 8 July 2020, and was linked to a pattern of harassment and stalking of his former partner, which reportedly began after their relationship ended. The abuse is alleged to have escalated when the victim discovered Davies had been unfaithful during the relationship.

As part of the court’s ruling, Davies received the following sentence:
• A £90 victim surcharge
• £200 court costs payable to the Crown Prosecution Service
• A community order requiring:
• Participation in a rehabilitation programme
• Completion of 120 hours of unpaid work within 12 months
• A restraining order was issued, prohibiting any direct or indirect contact with the victim and banning him from specific locations. This order remains in effect until 20 September 2022.

Davies entered a guilty plea, which was taken into account during sentencing.

Further concerns have been raised by members of the community, noting that Davies has had prior restraining orders issued by two other former partners and has a history of abuse on women
