Callum Green – Hartlepool

A teenager who was found guilty of outraging public decency by simulating sex with a rocking horse and putting a branch up his bum whilst masturbating in full view in a toddlers play area has walked free from court today.

Callum Green, who was found guilty of the offence following a trial on October 15 this year, was back before Teesside Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced this week.

Green, 19, carried out the act in Burn Valley Gardens in Hartlepool on the morning of October 19, 2024.

The charge read: “You, in a public place committed an act outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner, namely inserting parts of a “rocking horse” inside yourself whilst masturbating, then pulled a branch off a tree and penetrated yourself.”

The teenager was also being sentenced this week for one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, which he previously pleaded guilty to.

The charge for that read: “On or in 18 October 2024 at Hartlepool without lawful excuse, damaged a children’s playground to the value of unknown belonging to Hartlepool Council intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.”

Green, of the town’s Alston Street, was due to appear in court on November 14 for sentencing, however, a warrant was issued when he failed to turn up.

However, at the court appearance this week, Green was given a two-year community order with 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a 120-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement.

He was ordered to pay £650 court costs, £200 compensation and a £114 victim surcharge.
