PETER FERGUSON – LANARKSHIRE

A vulnerable family say they fear for their safety after enduring a prolonged campaign of harassment from a neighbour with more than 140 criminal convictions.

Peter Ferguson has been convicted multiple times over the past year for antisocial and abusive behaviour but remains in his council-owned property while eviction proceedings are ongoing. The family say the abuse has included verbal harassment, intimidation, late-night disturbances and threats, prompting repeated police involvement.

Despite the neighbour being subject to an ASBO and a non-harassment order, the family report continued breaches, including convictions for threatening and abusive behaviour. They say the situation has caused significant distress and disrupted daily life.

The local council confirmed it has been pursuing legal action and is awaiting court proceedings to determine eviction, adding that it has no control over court timescales.
