❌LUKE DAVIS – KIDDERMINSTER❌

All information below is taken from open court reporting. Luke Davis denies the charge and the trial is ongoing.)

A woman has told a court how she believes she contracted HIV after trusting a man who assured her he had been tested and was clear of STDs.

She said that Luke Davis, 31, of George Street, Kidderminster, told her he had been tested, and she took him at his word. They later had unprotected sex. Before this, she had tested negative for STDs — and had no other partners before her next test, when she was told she was HIV positive.

She shared with the court how the diagnosis changed her life. She now takes daily medication, previously suffering migraines, nausea, and insomnia before switching to treatment with fewer side effects. Her medical check-ups have reduced from monthly to every six months.

The jury heard allegations that Davis had previously been diagnosed HIV positive and at one point took medication that made his viral load undetectable — but that he had stopped taking his medication at the time they were together. The court was told that medical professionals made numerous attempts to contact him after he stopped attending appointments.

Davis has pleaded not guilty to the charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm by recklessly transmitting HIV, and he denies all allegations.
The trial continues.
