A 31-year-old man from Bushmills appeared at Antrim Crown Court for arraignment on a series of new charges, including child cruelty, common assault, dangerous driving, and several road-traffic offences.
He entered not guilty pleas, and the case is expected to proceed to trial.
This latest court appearance adds to a growing list of criminal allegations over recent years.
2025 – Indecent Behaviour Case

He was granted bail with strict conditions, including staying away from the premises involved.

2018 – Jailed for Assaulting Partner
July 2018 – Coleraine Magistrates’ Court
In 2018, he was sentenced to nine months in prison after violently assaulting his girlfriend during a confrontation about messages from another woman.
The court heard he pushed her off a bed, causing her to strike her head on a door frame.
District Judge Liam McNally told the defendant:
“In my view you are an absolute danger to any female who is in your company.”
The judge activated a suspended sentence and imposed a three-year restraining order.
He was later released on £500 bail pending an appeal.
Earlier Domestic Abuse Cases (Prior to 2018)
The 2018 sentencing marked his fourth domestic assault case, with previous hearings involving violence towards former partners.
On two earlier occasions he had received custodial sentences, and at least one further case had been dealt with on appeal.
Summary
Across multiple years, the Bushmills man has faced:
• Domestic assault convictions
• A nine-month sentence in 2018
• A restraining order
• Indecent behaviour charges in 2025
• A 2025 arraignment for child cruelty and additional offences
