❌JAMIE LEIGH BLACKBURN – KNOWSLEY HEIGHTS, HUYTON❌
Judge “Unable to Look” at Photos of Flat Where Woman Let Four Dogs Starve to Death
A 21-year-old woman from Huyton has been banned from keeping animals for 20 years after four of her dogs were found starved to death in her filthy flat.
Jamie Leigh Blackburn kept three XL bully-type dogs and a French bulldog named Yoda in her Knowsley Heights flat, which was filled with faeces and extreme neglect, a court heard.
When officers entered her home on 30 October, they discovered the dogs in such appalling conditions that she was later prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering.
During sentencing, the judge remarked that the photos of the flat were extremely distressing and said they were “not something I’d like to see again.”
As part of her punishment:
• Blackburn is disqualified from keeping animals for 20 years.
• The ruling follows a serious animal cruelty case under the Animal Welfare Act.
