Rizwan Khan – Middlesbrough

A rapist who subjected women to horrendous attacks in their own homes has been jailed.

Rizwan Khan, of Middlesbrough, carried out the rapes on two women decades apart.

During one incident, the 40-year-old assaulted his victim and then demanded sex the next morning.

He also forcibly raped one of the women after she refused sex when he woke her up at 3am and on another occasion, the same victim woke to him performing oral sex on her and he refused to stop when the woman said no.

Khan was arrested and charged with the rapes, assault by penetration and a count of assaulting a child after he also slapped a girl across the face.

Khan denied all the charges and pleaded not guilty but after a trial, was found guilty and at Teesside Crown Court on Monday, was sentenced to 11 years and 9 months in prison.

During sentencing, the judge noted how Khan had a sense of “entitlement” and “hostility” towards women.

His three victims were also granted restraining orders against him whilst he was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
