22-Year-Old Receives Over Eight Years in Prison for Rape and Assault at Atherton Residence

September 9, 2016

A young father of two has been sentenced to eight years and three months imprisonment following his conviction for sexual assault and physical violence against a couple in their Atherton home. Jac Wilde, 22, had maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings but was found guilty after undergoing two separate trials.

During sentencing, Judge Robert Trevor-Jones observed that Wilde displayed a contemptuous attitude toward both victims and clearly considered himself superior to them.

The judge noted that Wilde’s arrogance was readily apparent from his courtroom testimony, and stated that the assault was motivated as much by a desire to demonstrate dominance over the woman as by sexual gratification.

The incident occurred on September 15 at Liverpool Crown Court. Evidence presented showed that the couple had been consuming alcohol that evening, including vodka purchased by Wilde.

After the male victim retired to bed in a heavily intoxicated state, Wilde sexually assaulted the woman in the kitchen area. However, the jury acquitted him on this particular charge, and the judge therefore considered it consensual activity.

When this encounter ended prematurely, Wilde became aggressive toward the woman’s partner, attacking him in the bedroom and inflicting a black eye and multiple cuts.

Wilde subsequently removed the woman from the residence before bringing her back inside, where he coerced her into performing oral sex. He also removed her boyfriend from the bedroom after barricading himself inside, prompting the man to flee the premises.
Wilde then struck the woman on the head with a pan and forced her to perform oral sex again.

Beyond the rape conviction, Wilde was found guilty of two assault charges. The Wigan resident, who has prior criminal convictions, was mandated to register as a sex offender for life. Additionally, a five-year restraining order was issued prohibiting him from contacting the female victim.

Defense attorney Sara Haque stated that Wilde’s behavior reflected his lifestyle choices at that time, which he now regrets.

Update: Wilde has since been released from prisonp
