Nial Ferry, 23, from Wrexham (now residing in Chester), was sentenced to a total of 14 months in prison in 2025 after a brutal campaign of domestic violence and threats. Ferry left his partner bloodied and terrified, controlling her through intimidation and violence.
The abuse took place at a property in Davies Court, Wrexham, where a neighbour heard screams and called the police. Officers forced entry and found blood splattered across the kitchen. Ferry sat on the sofa with bloody hands and a bottle of wine, attempting to blame an unknown intruder for the injuries.
The victim, visibly injured, told police Ferry had grabbed her hair and punched her. She feared for her life, especially when he turned on the tap, making her believe he was about to drown her. Ferry tried to coerce her into lying to the police.
When police intervened, Ferry assaulted two officers—threatening to headbutt one and hurling abuse at another. He was restrained and arrested at the scene.
In her victim impact statement, the survivor described living in constant fear, feeling manipulated and emotionally imprisoned. She believed that if she remained with Ferry, he would eventually kill her.
The judge, Her Honour Nicola Jones, imposed a custodial sentence totalling 14 months, combining the ABH charge, officer assaults, and a breach of a previously suspended sentence. Ferry is currently serving his sentence and is considered a danger to women, especially when under the influence of alcohol.
