❌PAUL COOK – BARROW, CUMBRIA❌
2021 – Barrow Man Jailed for Assaulting a Woman
A man from Barrow has been sentenced to three weeks in prison for assaulting a woman.
Paul Cook, of Longmynd Avenue, was found guilty of attacking the victim during an incident in Barrow on September 2, the court heard at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.
The 46-year-old was jailed due to the alcohol-related nature of the offence and the aggravating circumstances, which included what was described as a “nasty assault” involving injuries around the victim’s eyes.
After initially pleading not guilty, Cook later changed his plea to guilty on December 10. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £100 in court costs, and a victim surcharge of £128.
A restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting him from contacting the victim by any means until September 10, 2022.
