CONVICTED | paedophile Graham Marshall aka Andy Marshall, 39, previously of Beighton, Sheffield S20, and Paige Reaney, 32, from Gleadless, Sheffield S12 – had ‘habitual sex’ with their pet dog after becoming obsessed with bestiality and were also violent towards him when he didn’t co-operate.

Marshall was given a five-and-a-half year custodial sentence with a further four years on licence after pleading guilty to a total of 12 sex offences, including bestiality. At the same hearing his ex-partner and mother of his two children Reaney was given a nine-month sentence, suspended for two years, after admitting bestiality and animal cruelty offences.

The couple’s offending was exposed in August 2021 when police seized devices from their home after receiving information about the possession of illegal images of children.

Police analysis of the devices uncovered a number of additional sexual offences committed solely by Marshall and bestiality content which had been carried out on a black pug called Charlie by both defendants over three years.

Marshall’s devices also contained voyeuristic material and indecent images of children and he had also taken an indecent image of a child.

When Reaney was arrested in January 2023, she told officers she had been forced to sexually abuse their dog as part of Marshall’s “fantasy”. In a later interview, she told officers he had previously sent her sexual images of dogs.

But Reaney also engaged in sexual activity with Charlie while she was alone, under Marshall’s instruction. Videos were made, involving both defendants, with Marshall heard instructing Reaney on what to do and she also obliged in sending images to him.

During the sentencing hearing on Monday 3 March 2025 the court heard that Marshall would “encourage” Charlie to have sex with Reaney, who would perform oral sex on him and allow him to do the same to her. The court heard the incidents were filmed by the couple.

The dog ejaculated inside Reaney, who would often threaten him with violence.

Outlining the “extremely disturbing” circumstances of the couple’s offending, Judge Jeremy Richardson KC said: “The simple fact is, you Reaney, had many sexual encounters with that poor helpless creature, which were all aided and abetted by you, Marshall. These shocking acts of bestiality were video recorded…

“You Marshall, described the dog as ‘mummy’ and encouraged the dog to penetrate Reaney, on occasion, you pulling the back legs of the dog and positioned him for sexual acts. On occasion, you, Reaney, threatened violence towards the dog because he was annoying you. The dog [in the footage] is often restrained and in distress.”

The court heard images of bestiality were shared between the two on TikTok, with Marshall describing them as “hot” and “amazing.”

In a message, Reaney told him: “Wish I could have you right now.” It was said Reaney also spoke favourably of her experiences with the dog in the messages.

Judge Richardson said Charlie was examined by a vet, who prepared a report, during which he indicated “the dog would have been in distress and pain when forced to indulge in bestial acts.”

The judge said: “The dog has suffered due to the abuse of it by two human beings in a state of helplessness…

“It appears you, Marshall, visited websites where puppies for sale were on offer including where dogs were being given away or fostered.”

Reaney pleaded guilty to having intercourse with a dog and to a second charge specifying four occasions of intercourse. She admitted a further charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, in that she subjected him to ‘habitual sexual activity’

Marshall pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting a female person to have sexual intercourse with a dog.

He also admitted one count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and another charge of failing to ensure the welfare of the dog.

Marshall also admitted one count of voyeurism and three counts of possessing extreme pornographic images relating to sexual acts involving a ‘dead/alive animal. He also admitted seven counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children of Categories A, B and C and a further count of making indecent photographs of children of Category C.

Amy Earnshaw, defending Reaney, told the court her client had “learning difficulties” and had been manipulated by Marshall, who had also exerted control over her and subjected her to verbal and physical abuse.

She added: “When she was arrested in January 2023, that’s when her relationship ended, social services became involved, the children were taken from her, and her whole world came crashing down around her ears.”

The court heard Reaney has attempted to take her own life and suffers with an adjustment disorder.

Defending Marshall, Andrew Bailey said he has lost his job as a driver, his home, his relationship and his children and that he’s been the subject of ‘vigilante attacks, social media abuse, shaming and humiliation’.

Marshall had also been ‘ostracised’ from almost all members of his family and had been ‘living in a tent in the woods’.

Sentencing |
Marshall: extended sentence of nine years and six months, made up of a custodial term of five years and six months, and extended licence period of four years.
Reaney: nine-month sentence suspended for two years. She was told she must carry out 30 rehabilitation activity requirement sessions. She was made the subject of notification requirements for ten years.
Both were made the subject of an order prohibiting them from keeping animals.
