Christian Sollitt – Keighley

A pervert from Keighley who groomed and picked up a young girl from the school gates to sexually abuse has also been found guilty of possessing indecent images of children.

Christian Sollitt, 46, of Rawling Street, was found guilty of six counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of making indecent photographs of children, sexual communications with a child, meeting a child following sexual grooming, possession of extreme pornographic images and possession of a prohibited image of a child following a trial at Grimsby Crown Court.

Sollitt came to the attention of police after a third-party reported in July 2018 after he approached a young girl and communicated with her before meeting for sex on a number of occasions.

Sollitt was made the subject of a child abduction notice but he continued to contact the girl.

His home was then searched and digital equipment examined.

The search revealed the true and terrifying extent of Sollitt’s grooming.

Thousands of emails, voice calls and video calls to the girl were discovered, as well as extreme pornographic images and videos of multiple children as young as three-years-old.

Sollitt sent the girl explicit images and arranged to pick her up from school and take her to secluded areas in Grimsby to engage in sexual activity.

He denied knowing the age of his victim, but after accepting his knowledge of it, continued to try and declare his love and feelings for her. Sollitt will be sentenced on December 12.
