KONNOR WALTON / BROAD – BARKING / RAINHAM

URGENT PARENTAL WARNING – PLEASE READ ⚠️
This post is to raise awareness and encourage parents to regularly check their children’s devices and social media accounts, no matter how safe you think they are.
A local man, known online as Konnor Walton (real name Konnor Broad), was recently convicted after pleading guilty to sending explicit messages to a 9-year-old girl. Despite being repeatedly told the child’s age, he continued communication of a sexual nature over a period of months.
The incident only came to light when the child’s iPad received a message while charging on Easter Sunday. Upon checking, her parent discovered the disturbing content.
The man admitted guilt in court and received the following sentence:
- 18 months’ probation
- A community order
- 100 hours of unpaid work
- Mandatory attendance on an offender programme
- Placement on the Sex Offenders Register
- A Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO)
- A £199 fine
The parent involved has chosen to remain anonymous to protect the child’s identity and well-being. The child is currently receiving counselling.
This situation is a heartbreaking reminder that online predators can and do target very young children, even on platforms and devices we assume are safe.
👉 Please, take this as a serious reminder to:
- Routinely check your children’s messages and apps
- Talk openly with them about online safety
- Report any suspicious behaviour immediately
Please do Clare’s and Sarah’s law.
