EIGHT YEARS AND FOUR MONTHS FOR HISTORIC ABUSE OF TWO TEENAGE GIRLS
David Peers was sentenced to eight years and four months at Mold Crown Court on 8 January 2026 after admitting sexual offences against two teenage girls in the 1980s.
Peers, 71, from Llay near Wrexham, pleaded guilty to nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency with a child. The offences concerned two separate victims, whose identities remain protected.
The proceedings brought the historical abuse before the court decades after it occurred. Alongside the prison term, Peers was made subject to indefinite restraining orders protecting both victims and lifetime sex offender registration.
