Torrington paedophile who downloaded and shared Category A child abuse images avoids immediate prison sentence
A 27-year-old man from Torrington who admitted downloading and distributing indecent images of children, including material in the most serious Category A classification, has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Kyle Sanders, of Dartington Fields, Torrington, downloaded indecent photographs of children between 9 January and 4 March 2024.
The material included Category A images, the most serious classification of child sexual abuse material, which can include the rape or sexual torture of children.
Sanders also admitted distributing indecent images of children to others online.
Despite the seriousness of the offences, Sanders was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years, meaning he will not be sent to prison immediately unless the sentence is activated.
He was also ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work, register with police as a sex offender and comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which places restrictions on his behaviour to help protect children.
