A predatory rapist stalked an “extremely vulnerable” woman through the night before dragging her into bushes, covering her mouth and subjecting her to a prolonged sexual attack.

Darius Andrulionis had watched and followed the woman as she drank in Wisbech, Cambridge Crown Court heard.

She was so vulnerable that she had fallen over several times—but instead of helping her, the 46-year-old targeted her.

Earlier that night, Andrulionis attempted to dance with the woman, but she rejected him. He later followed her and her companions to a garage in the early hours of the morning.

CCTV captured the horrifying moment Andrulionis dragged the struggling woman away.

She desperately kicked out in an attempt to escape, but he forced her into a dark alleyway and then into nearby bushes.

When she screamed, Andrulionis covered her mouth and nose before raping her during what prosecutors described as a prolonged attack.

The woman eventually managed to break free and flee back to the garage. She suffered injuries to her arms, legs, back and finger, but later revealed that the psychological damage had been far worse.

Andrulionis was arrested later that day. He initially denied the rape, even after being confronted with CCTV footage showing him interacting with the victim.

Although he first pleaded not guilty, he later admitted raping a woman aged 16 or over.

Sentencing him, Judge Andrew Hirst branded Andrulionis “predatory” and said he had deliberately selected the woman because she was extremely vulnerable.

The judge described the attack as an abduction and told him: “You simply dragged her away in the dark to satisfy your lust.”

The court heard that Andrulionis, of Balding Close, Wisbech, displayed no remorse for the devastating harm he had caused.

He was sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by six years on extended licence. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for life, handed an indefinite restraining order and ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge.

In a heartbreaking statement, the victim said the attack had shattered her confidence and left her frightened whenever somebody—particularly a man—walks behind her.

She no longer trusts people and has stopped going out or socialising.

“I have just locked everything inside and I have tried to bury it down,” she said.
