A woman who unleashed a relentless social media campaign packed with false and devastating accusations accusing her police officer ex-husband of being a “rapist” and a “baby killer” has been jailed for 18 months.

Jennifer Pritchard, 47, of Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, used a Facebook page called “Jen’s Justice” to wage a two-month campaign against her former husband, South Wales Police Sergeant Stephen Pritchard.

Among the shocking false claims posted online were allegations that Sgt Pritchard was a “rapist” and a “baby killer”.

The impact was severe. Sgt Pritchard told Cardiff Crown Court that the allegations resulted in him being investigated by his own police force and caused serious damage to his health, finances and career.

He described himself as the victim of a malicious online campaign designed to destroy his reputation and said the ordeal had left him suffering from anxiety, depression and other health problems.

His message to the court was simple: he wanted his life back and feared the campaign against him would never end.

Pritchard had been due to stand trial but pleaded guilty to a malicious communication offence on the day proceedings were scheduled to begin.

Prosecutor Pamela Kaiga told the court that this was not the first time Pritchard had made false accusations involving her former husband.

She had previously been prosecuted for perverting the course of justice after telling lies about him.

The court heard that she repeatedly targeted Sgt Pritchard with false claims involving domestic violence, rape and the extraordinary allegation that he was a baby killer.

Her criminal history also included a harassment conviction involving another former husband in January 2025.

Later that year, she was convicted of an offence involving the misuse of telecommunications against a different police officer.

The judge said Pritchard appeared to gain satisfaction from the damage she inflicted on others and told her he had seen no meaningful evidence that she was genuinely sorry.

He also highlighted what he described as her history of inventing false accusations and concluded that she posed a “high risk of harm” to former husbands and police officers.

Pritchard was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.

She was also slapped with an indefinite restraining order banning her from contacting Sgt Pritchard — bringing a courtroom end to a vicious campaign of lies that left her former husband fighting to reclaim his reputation and his life.
