Asim Akhtar – Wolverton

A man has been jailed for eight years after sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a woman during a visit to a Wolverton massage centre.

Asim Akhtar, a 22-year-old of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday 7th September.

He was also given a four-year extended licence.

Akhtar was found guilty by a unanimous jury following a three-day trial on 8th June 2026.

He was convicted of three counts of sexual assault, one count of attempted rape, one count of intentional strangulation and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Thames Valley Police said Akhtar went to China Health Centre in Wolverton at around 7.30pm on 13th December last year.

There, he sexually assaulted the victim before becoming physically aggressive and attempting to rape them.

The victim suffered minor injuries and required hospital treatment.

Akhtar was arrested the same day and charged the following day.
