Judge takes ‘an exceptional course’ after re-offending caught with hundreds of indecent images of children of children aged between one and five.

A pervert who was found with hundreds of indecent images of children and animals – having already been convicted of similar offences just months earlier has avoided prison again

Joshua Glogiewicz, 26, of Coskills, Barnetby-le-Wold admitted failing to comply with court orders by making more indecent images of children in 2021 and 2022. He also admitted possession of extreme pornographic images.

Prosecuting at Grimsby Crown Court, Billy Torbett told how members of Humberside Police Digital Forensic Team discovered indecent images on his laptop when it was inspected.

Glogiewicz had been convicted in May 2021 of making indecent images and was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex offender Register.

That required him to notify police of any new electronic device he used and the identification he used to gain access to the internet.

He was also meant to make his search history available to investigators when required to do so.

But officers found he had a new Dell laptop in September 2022, said Mr Torbett. It contained hundreds of indecent images of children which he had downloaded just months after his conviction.

In his interview with police the defendant said he had no knowledge of the content of his laptop.

Mr Torbett said the offence put Glogiewicz in breach of a conviction in 2021 after police raided his home in January 2020 and seized a number of devices after receiving intelligence that Glogiewicz was downloading indecent images.

A total of 969 images, some of which were categorised into the worst category, were found and 100 videos.

The images and videos had been downloaded over a period of time between October 2018 and January 2020, when the police seized the devices.

Some of the material involved featured children between the ages of one and five-years-old.

For the offence he was given an 18-month prison sentence suspended for two years.

Judge Richard Woolfall said there had been a significant delay in the proceedings coming to crown court. “In the intervening period you have one everything to show that you can change,” he said.

He said he was taking “an exceptional course” by not imposing the suspended sentence from 2021.

He imposed a 10-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months and fined Glogiewicz £1,000.

Judge Woolfall said he had arrived at court, having read Glogiewicz’s file, with the intention of jailing him. “I have been persuaded by Miss White’s skillful submissions,” he said.

He added: “You cannot look at these images. You are intelligent enough to understand. These are real children being sexually abused for people like you. Real children have dreadful lives as a result.” He ordered the destruction of the electronic devices containing the indecent images.
