2022 – A man that raped a schoolboy has been jailed

Kielan Waugh, of Workington appeared at Carlise Crown Court where he was sentenced for:

– One count of rape against a male child aged under 16

– One count of sexual assault against a male child aged under 16

The court was told that the victim was 14-years-old when the rape took place. Waugh also manipulated and threatened the boy to commit sexual acts on him.

The grooming, rape and further abuse had a detrimental and lasting effect on the victim.

The judge sentenced Waugh to six years and four months imprisonment and told him that he must register as a sex offender for life
