18th May 2026 – Man jailed for non-fatal strangulation after attack on former partner

Luke Hutchinson, of Lincoln, has been sentenced to three years in prison after being found guilty of non-fatal strangulation against his former partner.

Lincoln Crown Court heard Hutchinson carried out the offence while children were present in the house, adding further concern to the seriousness of the case.

He was found guilty following a trial in February and was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, where the court also imposed an indefinite restraining order to protect the victim from further harassment or fear of violence.

Court documents confirm the restraining order prohibits Hutchinson from contacting the victim either directly or indirectly. He is also banned from attending any address he knows or believes the victim to be residing, working, or visiting.

The order will remain in place until further order of the court, with a warning that breaching any part of it could result in an additional prison sentence of up to five years.

Hutchinson was convicted of intentional strangulation and criminal damage.
