Swansea Man Given Community Order After Admitting Domestic Abuse Offences

A Swansea man has been sentenced at crown court after admitting a series of domestic abuse offences against his former partner.

Callum Wayne Tristram appeared at Swansea Crown Court on January 7, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. The case followed reports of sustained abuse over a prolonged period, including allegations of physical violence and controlling behaviour.

The court heard that the victim had experienced both emotional and physical abuse during the relationship, with incidents said to have taken place over a number of years. The offences included assault, assault by beating and intentional strangulation.

Following his guilty plea, Tristram was handed a community order lasting until July 2026, alongside a programme requirement of 30 days and 20 days of rehabilitation activity. He was also ordered to pay a £114 surcharge.

A restraining order was imposed by the court.

The case also involved safeguarding concerns, with it understood that children were affected during the course of the relationship. Authorities had previously deemed the defendant unsafe, and measures were put in place to protect those involved.

This case highlights ongoing concerns around domestic abuse and the importance of victims coming forward. Support services continue to urge anyone experiencing abuse to seek help and report incidents to the police.
