A former Merkinch youth worker from Inverness has been jailed after being caught with indecent images of children and breaching sex offender regulations.
Andrew Jessiman, 45, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after admitting to possessing 64 category C images of child abuse. He had previously been convicted of voyeurism and public indecency in 2024 and was already on the sex offenders register.
Jessiman was also found to have breached notification requirements by using undeclared online aliases. He was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
At Inverness Sheriff Court, a sheriff imposed a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The order restricts his internet use, requires police monitoring of his devices, and bans him from contacting or approaching children under 16 without prior approval.
He must provide access to his devices and passwords, cannot use private browsing or encryption tools, and must report any incidental contact with children to authorities.
