Kyle Pakey – Truro

A jealous thug beat up his ex partner in Truro because of texts she sent to another man before she met him and threatened to burn her parents’ house to the ground, throw acid at her mum’s face and have her little brother violated.

Kyle Pakey met his victim in March 2024 and the pair became an item a few months later.

However, while the relationship was positive at first, it descended into jealousy and alcohol and cocaine-fuelled violence.

A sentencing hearing at Truro Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday, February 24) heard how in November that year he became jealous over a text message his now ex partner had sent another man prior to their relationship.

He ordered her to show him the message then flew into a rage and started shouting at her before becoming physically violent.

He pushed her face with the phone grabbed her face and pushed his fingers into her face.

The court heard how he pushed her onto the bed and grabbed her.

In August 2025 he again got enraged, this time over a text message she had sent to a female friend. He forced her to call the number so the message could be verified.

Pakey, 35, now of Stanley Street in Rotherham, pulled his ex by the hair, slapped her and landed more blows to her face “one after another”.

His victim was able to flee to safety but suffered injuries to her face and head including a perforated ear drum and even a bite mark.

The court heard that after the incident Pakey’s victim travelled to her family in Birmingham to have a break from him.

He repeatedly contacted her and made threats to petrol bomb her family’s house, throw acid into her mum’s face and have her little brother violated.

In September last year, he also went to her home in Truro and smashed up a window. When he was arrested by Devon and Cornwall Police Pakey became hostile and had to be pepper sprayed before being subdued.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, a charge of stalking involving fear of violence and one charge of criminal damage.

He pleaded guilty to all of them. The court heard how Pakey has 14 previous convictions for 27 offences.

The judge sentenced him to two years in jail and imposed a restraining order for five years.
