A Scottish mother has shared how her ex-partner subjected her to repeated violence, leaving her “black and blue” and strangling her with an iPhone cable while she was heavily pregnant.
Steven Manson, 29, allegedly carried out a sustained campaign of abuse against Kirsty Nealis, 27, between 2019 and 2024. During this period, she suffered multiple attacks, including when she was 36 weeks pregnant.
On February 9, Manson, from Paisley, admitted to repeatedly assaulting Nealis, threatening her, kicking her down stairs, holding scissors to her neck, and strangling her with a cable. Other admitted offences included seizing her by the neck, knocking her to the ground, and hitting her head against furniture.
Manson, who previously avoided a jail sentence in 2019 after assaulting another ex-partner in a shop, remains in custody. He is due to be sentenced next month at Paisley Sheriff Court.
